This poster from the AIGA archives is a good example of interesting typography. They’ve used a sans serif in contrast to a serif to create emphasis for differentiation. The type is consistent with size, x-height, value, and stress. These attributions allow for the AIGA to be hidden within Chicago, but seen on a secondary level. I think the designer wanted to say that the AIGA in Chicago is a part of Chicago, not just a business with no association to the city.
