Figure Skating

Creating a poster that captured the essence of Olympic figure skating was a lot harder than I imagined. The concepts were relatively simple: present the history of the sport, how the sport is played, how it is judged, include the date, time, and event. I chose figure skating because it was an elegant sport, whose mascot was the most charming. I think the mascots conveyed the message better than the traditional silhouette of a person because they are tailored to these Vancouver games. They are a symbol of the 2010 Olympics and you won’t see them anywhere else. I really liked working with text for the first time. With all the different fonts available finding one that fit each part of the composition was a bit challenging. I think the poster turned out pretty well considering the whole week.
